Hello Aspirants, We COEP CSAC are thrilled to announce an inspiring Toppers Talk. We are having Mr. Anil Mhaske Sir, an IPS officer, as a guest. He will be sharing his insights on the topic 'नवयुवकांसमोरील आव्हाने'. Catch this opportunity to listen to such a great personality by joining the session. Where there is a problem, there is an opportunity to learn. Do join the session to learn how to overcome the challenges and move towards success.

VIVEKMALA

Vivekmala is one of the numerous events held by the civil services aspirant club(COEP Tech).

This event is the major annual flagship event of the CSAC Club which initiates the working of the club, this occasion is held in the month of January on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand.

It is a three days long event where a series of lectures are delivered by veteran bureaucrats who have rendered their services to our nation throughout their careers as civil servants. They share their valuable experiences from their journey as a civil servant, as understanding the profession we want to enter is necessary and hence the orations by these delegates help us understand the depth of our future work, as civil servants.

This helps in clearing doubts and learning from their experiences, it also helps us to understand the applications of various values like leadership, communication, integrity, accountability, honesty, compassion, patience, and transparency in real life from the examples and anecdotes they share through these lectures.

The club invites different eminent guests on these 3 days so that the aspirants get to learn from people of various backgrounds and form a sense of relatability which would further help them to create their mindsets and proceed with their preparations likewise, hence the event concludes.

GROUP DISCUSSION

Group discussion and critical analysis is organised monthly with aim of understanding the pattern of the exam. It is an medium of interaction between senior and junior students and source of building the approach towards the civil services examination.

The group discussion is mainly for learning, recollecting and clearing doubts. Time and topics to be discussed in group discussion are planed well in advanced.

Seniors put forth the current issues and link them with the static syllabus in order to have an overall thinking . It involves an organized conversation with group of students to learn about each other’s idea and experience.

Collection of several viewpoints about same subject is an important aspect or feature of group discussion. This group discussions generates new ideas that are helpful in decision making and problem solving.

Critical analysis is source of deliberation among the students regarding the syllabus, current affairs and international relations etc . Booklists of reference books are shared, topper’s notes and video lectures are provided to newly inducted aspirants.

Analysis of previous year question papers and model answer is done due to which the students are able to predict the future questions and fulfil the examination requirements.

Seniors conduct test on specific topic and juniors are supposed to write on the same. These improves writing skills .Feedback of these answers is provided at the end of the session.

Various doubts are cleared in these meetings. Along with the studies, awareness regarding meditation , exercise is made to increase the effectivity of the study .inculcation of ideal study techniques and patterns makes the study process convenient.

Group discussion also helps in boosting confidence and communication skills thereby moulding the aspirant’s personality.

Faculty advisors are mentoring the group of students and thereby maintain discipline and protocol of the session. It tackles students problems regarding syllabus completion, consistency and gives tips to maintain the balance between academic study and UPSC preparation.

Group discussion is a kind of mirror in which we are able to check our level of preparation and builds a sense of healthy competition between the aspirants. It provides an environment essential for the sustenance in competitive exams.

The club firmly believes in the principle of 80% self study and 20% group study. Thus, the focus group discussion provides a qualitative research approach primarily used in the social sciences.

It finds applications in several domains, such as Answer writing, personality building, decision-making, and information systems. Its general qualities stand out: group homogeneity, session sequencing, qualitative data collection, and subject emphasis. This research approach may be used alone or with other strategies to enhance a study design.

TOPPER'S TALK

Toppers talk is one of the most crucial events held by the CSAC club of COEP tech. this event is held every month and the club invites various newly selected officers in various categories like administration (IAS), police(IPS), foreign (IFS), revenue(IRS), etc. this helps the aspirants in keeping regular touch with the changes in the pattern and trends of this examinations, it also helps in providing encouragement and inspiration needed during the preparations. These invited toppers from various categories guide the aspirants by discussing different strategies and plans of action necessary for clearing this examination, this helps the aspirants in making minimum mistakes and learning from the mistakes of the orators invited. These guests help the aspirants by sharing information, about various study materials, articles, newspapers, and television channels, they provide information about their experiences in selecting preferences and training durations.

This event is concluded with the question and answer session where the aspirants can ask various doubts in their minds regarding the preparation for the civil services examination, this session helps the aspirant with clearing their doubts and proceeding with their preparation with greater ease.

CSAC WEEK

CSAC WEEK is one of the flagship event of the club held every year in the month of march. It is a series of events to make the aspirants familiar with 3 stages of UPSC CSE examination. It is basically an imitation of an actual civil services examination consisting of the three stages, firstly preliminary test, secondly the mains and finally the personality test. Timetable of all the three stages and prizes to be distributed are displayed well in advanced before the event. Many students register for the event every year with great determination . Students appear for the preliminary test which includes Multiple choice questions regarding general studies, comprehensions, aptitude and logic based questions. Students clearing the cut off are then selected for the the second stage called the main exam. It includes -Competitions on writing skills/ summary writing required for main exam .These two stages are conducted under the supervision of senior faculties in order to create an environment similar to that o actual exam day. Papers are checked and scrutinized by the faculty members and results are displayed immediately . Few students make their way to personality test which is full of brain storming. Students fill the interview for which is an imitation of the DAFT. Panels are formed by CSAC CORE committee which is responsible for conducting the personality test. Candidate’s ability in decision making , general knowledge , honesty and overall personality are examined and the final marking is completed. Result declaration and Prize distribution Ceremony is organized at the end of the CSAC-WEEK. Senior civil servant is invited as chief guest of the ceremony who guides students regarding preparation strategies and share their experiences in the service. This is really a motivating session which gives aspirants the understanding of the exam pattern and go through the process of competition well in advanced. It builds approach and student habits required for the sustenance in the civil services exam. Most of the aspirants are able understand their area of improvements , strength and weakness by the feedback given by the core committee.

CSAC Saturday

The Civil Services Aspirants Club has launched a fresh weekly event called 'CSAC Saturday!' On our Instagram handle, we share quizzes every Saturday. We commenced with UPSC-related questions, gradually increasing the difficulty level each week. This activity serves as a valuable opportunity for aspirants to test and improve their knowledge. The response to this activity has been overwhelming, with numerous aspirants actively participating by answering the quiz questions every Saturday. This activity assists them in taking a significant step towards unlocking the path to accomplishment and triumph.
